RSS is the TiVo of the web
An uber non tech friend asked me what this RSS thing is all about. I gave him the long story and I think left him spinning. I should have said it's the TiVo of the web. You select the websites you want to record, just like the TV shows, and it saves them all for you in one place for you to go back and read whenever you want. That's actually more true of the aggregators, but to someone who's web experience consists solely of clicking links, it's a nice little summery.
