social spam
Got an e-mail the other day from jenntheatre@yahoo.com which was a little weird. The subject was "Blog" and the e-mail said: Hi, I'm just surfing around trying to meet new people, so hi!. Check out more about me at my blog http://jenntheater.blogspot.com/ Email me soon, and say hello! Jenn The first thing that struck me about this is that my e-mail is no where on my blog. Secondly, well I'm not going to pick this appart but you get the idea that it's a little off somehow. So I checked out the blog and it looks legit at first glance, tons of posts, but lots of the "your links here" templates still in place, and an entry about being on friendster. I looked up the e-mail address on there and there is in fact an account for Jenn Theater (or Jenn Theatre) but it's not linked to mine in anyway so I couldn't see the profile at all. This seems to have at least some effort put in. I thought it was weird, but left it at that. Then yesterday I saw Clay's post on Many-to-Many which sheds some more light on the whole thing.
