Top 12 Reasons Against Gay Marriage
Top twelve reasons homosexual marriage should not be legal: 1 .Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control. 2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people can’t legally get married because the world needs more children. 3. Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children. 4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful, since Britney Spears’ 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful. 5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn’t changed at all; women are property, blacks can’t marry whites, and divorce is illegal. 6. Gay marriage should be decided by people not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities. 7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That’s why we have only one religion in America. 8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall. 9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. 10. Children can never suceed without a male and a female role model at home. That’s why single parents are forbidden to raise children. 11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven’t adapted to cars or longer lifespans. 12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a “seperate but equal” institution is always constitutional. Seperate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as seperate marriages for gays and lesbians will. Gay marriages is an unnatural, immoral and culturally depraving form of union used for either pleasure or some sort of tax relief. -God made humans a certain way, how they decide to interact IS your "bizness" since it influences the views of society and of the new generations thus expanding homosexuality- #7. no official religion...but yes, all major religions deviate such union. i disaprove of #10 and #11. homosexuality isnt something that is made up. It isnt something that is all in ur mind and u can tune out. Its an actual emotion and feeling. The love between two people is raw. Nothing could seperate that despite sexual prefrences. It is a great human characteristic to love and care for another intimatley. Oh my! wow who do you think you are...you think you are better then those who cannot have children or better then the mothers who happen to be single. You do NOT know their situations and need not comment on their life styles. To say that they cannot legally be married, shut the hell up! you are no one! Thanks Thadd for that enlightening comment on how gays are teaching the world to murder since being "taught" to be gay is akin to murder. I'll let my gay friends know that next time I see them. And oh yea, that whole lets condone new things because they "help" how bout thinking about who the gays you're summarily bashing happen to be helping. I happen to suffer from severe depression and when no one else would help me I had a GAY help me out. Go figure, the heterosexuals were no where to be found but a gay was. I don't believe that gay marriages are right, because they go against everything God says, but I won't say it's wrong. I just don't agree with it. I think it's kinda funny how nobody got the sarcasm. Isn't it pretty obvious. He/she's saying that since none of the other stuff is wrong, then same sex marriage is also not wrong. On a religious note: true translations of the Bible do not denounce homosexuality, except in Paul's letters, which he writes as opinions (explicitly stated by the author). Besides that, the Bible has nothing to do with it, as we live under a government with separation of church and state. To whomever posted the list in the first place: Thank you for posting this. I don't know who may have thought if this list, but it's pretty ridiculous!! Bottom line, the reason gay marriage is wrong is clearly written in the Bible, look at Mark 10:5-9. Of course, gay people want their rights as we all do, but why have to bring something that is supposed to be sacred (marriage) into the picture?! The list posted is completely ridiculous. The major reason why people have a problem with homosexuality is based on religion. “God is against homosexuality”, but “god loves all”. It’s a contradiction really. One’s sexual preference doers not change the fact that they are human. You are basically implying that homosexuals are not human, by comparing them to animals! Children such as yourself, who judges people based on preference, grow up to hate. Homosexuality is not wrong, racism is. Chewing out an individual because of their sexual preference, is the same thing as chewing out someone for being German, for being Mexican. No, it is not a race, it’s an emotion. When emotions happen, they happen. The comment on “tall people”, it made me think that this list was a joke! The crowd one chooses to “hang out” with does not affect nevertheless, change their psychical appearance. As for sexuality, it does not either. One doesn’t turn gay. As for many who actually agree to this stupidity, look at yourselves. Would you like to be imprisoned, and forced into being someone you are not? Is this not a free country? Not allowing gay marriages, makes it oblivious that even our personal freedoms are very limited. There was an argument that homosexuality is unnatural, and dangerous. The argument being that; diseases and other problems occur in homosexuals. For example, lesbians are most likely never to conceive a child, therefore, are more prone to cancer. On problem, abortion can cause infertility or even death. How can the government allow such a dangerous procedure to be legal, and not this “freedom” that can make so many happy. I myself do not believe in Marriage. It is for a religious purpose. “Uniting in the eyes of god.” I am surprised that some homosexuals are religious, when in that shit book, the are frowned upon. Now, it seems that marriage has become more of a “Uniting through the law, ordeal.” There is noting wrong with two PEOPLE uniting, if in love. Straight parents do not “raise” their children into having a sexual preference. They can grow up to discriminate, or love. Regarding the Bible and homosexuality being a sin, and thus opposing gay marriage, the "Christian" right has it wrong. I invite you to read: "Connecting the Biblical Dots: Why Jesus Is For Same-sex Marriage." It's a biblically grounded paper that gives a convincing argument why homosexuality is not a sin to God and why marriage, including same-sex marriage, is the acceptable standard. I think I get it. I don't think the person who wrote this is against gay marriage, because they gave an example that disproved whatever was previously stated. That means that the person who wrote this was for gay marriage, and being an African American, I feel the "racist" comments were just showing a parallel to the author’s views on homosexuality. For example, in #12 the author said that gay marriage should be separate because "a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. I have always said this is a free country so do want your heart desires and what you feel is right. I would not get an abortion, but I would never treat some one like shit just because they decided to do so same, I believe the same in situations like gay marriages. Shit America's views has did a full turn arround in the last hundred years and I fully support a more open minded America. However, I always worry about children influences and this seems to be one. I don't agree with those reasons. I know everybody has their own opinion, but those reasons weren't even logical. When somebody marries a person it shouldn't matter what the sex of the person is, but if love is real between them. I think everybody has the freedom to choose who they want to be with and when somebody wants to take that way(Bush), then freedom does not lie in our hands and it so much more than love. Taking our rights away, is saying that our nation is not free anymore. People should stay out of each others life and ask each other this one question.
