More on the V600

I have to say I'm really torn here. I really like the look, feel and general use of the Motorola V600 but in addition to the syncing problems I'm having, I've just run into what might be a deal breaker. The phone I got was set up for AT&T. I have a Cingular account. The folks at Motorola were kind enough to privide an unlock code so I could test drive the thing, but all the software on the phone is AT&T branded - no big deal really untill I tried to use the internet... or send a text message... or e-mail a photo to my moblog. All these don't work because all the internal stuff wants to use AT&T. I spent about an hour going though all the directories changing all the settings to match the settings on the Sony Ericsson T616 I've been using and still no go. A few people have pointed out companies that I can send my phone and $30-$50 to and they will wipe the AT&T stuff but I'm not sure I trust that. It's a very nice phone but if I can't use half the functions I might have to switch back to the T616, crappy camera and all.

Sean Bonner has been annoying people on the internet since 1994. Currently he lives in Los Angeles and is the co-founder of Metroblogging. Despite growing up in Bradenton, Yahoo! thinks he's the most important "Sean" on the internets. He's sick of labels. This was his blog until sometime in 2007 when it broke.
