Blog Business
"It's early; blogs as a lifeform are just getting around to crawl out of the ocean and breath. They will be a business but not yet."
Jeff Jarvis just said that about the slew of publicity that's been following Nick Denton around recently. I agree with this 100%. While "blogs as business" is still young, it's got legs and I'm banking will be up and running sooner than people suspect. No, I'm *Really* banking on it.
I've got some exciting news, but can't talk about it yet. Stay tuned.

I concurr. Blogging is a tool- there's a ton of angles someone could take to make $$$ off it.
One major obstacle though, is that the major audience has developed a habit of expecting their products and services for free.

Ed I think you are right, I don't think paid content is viable. I think the trick of all this is finding ways to make money without charging the readers. Ads are a constant, but there needs to be a better way than adding up $2 here, $5 there, and $30 here. I think with the right model, a different level of advertisement might be a good route.

What about affiliate programs like 'cj.com'?
