Inside Story - Pt 2 - Break and Wi-Fi

OK, thanks to Mack Reed I got online. The tech people were ultra unhelpful. Their solution to the "the account you gave me doesn't work" problem was "oh, sorry. There's nothing we can do." Turns out I needed to enter the username and password in a DIFFERENT area, and NOT use all the spaces that are printed on the card. Can I just ask what is the point of this? What's the reasoning behind a hidden SSID and all this accounts and crap? For $100 they could have set up and open network and had no complaints. It's not like this is Etech and there are 100 people fighting for a single T1 line. There's like 4 people online, tops.

Caryn just posted her feelings on the evening so far.

Most of the crowd seems to be very amused by us sitting here blogging this. The discussion is about blogs, but I think a lot of these people have never seen a blog, or don't know what one is. At least 5 people have been BLOWN THE FUCK AWAY to learn I'm blogging this *right now.* The guy behind us just said something like "there's no stopping these bloggers, pretty soon they will be writing about things *before* they happen."

Caryn told him she just blogged that. On to Part 3!

The BlueSpot guys had some sort of evil mojo working last night. I couldn't email tips, and couldn't check *my* email on my work account, home account or my LAVoice web account - beyond irritating. In any case, it was a real pleasure meeting Sean and Caryn F2F - I told them I greatly admire what they've done with blogging.la.

This is a single entry on a blog written by me, Sean Bonner. Please feel free to look around or even join in whatever conversation might be going on. Or don't. See if I care.

Sean Bonner has been annoying people on the internet since 1994. Currently he lives in Los Angeles and is the co-founder of Metroblogging. Despite growing up in Bradenton, Yahoo! thinks he's the most important "Sean" on the internets. He's sick of labels. This was his blog until sometime in 2007 when it broke. Check out seanbonner.com for current stuff.
