G.W. & Crew Flip Flop Catalog

Aaron made this amazingly cool catalog. Please check it out and pass it along. And don't forget, for more details America For Sale is a great source.

UPDATE: The bogus quote on the last page has been replaced with a more legitimate one.

A quick google for "Alexander Tyler" shows that the "terms & conditions" quote is an urban myth and that there has been no Alexander Tyler.

So how can I trust that the rest is true?

Oh come on, that thing is so kickass does it really matter?

I checked most of the quotes and they were legit before I put it online, but that does seem odd - looking into it now.

Really neat catalog! Great stuff. It would be cool if someone would follow up with a "Make your own flip-flop" site, though obviously the design of this one is really solid as is.

It's a great idea, and god knows I'm no fan of GW, but I think some of the positions articulated are a little on the unfair side. I'm thinking particularly of the position on steel tariffs. The situation is not - as was suggested - that he imposed steel tariffs in a positive move and then betrayed them (ie. it's not the second part that's the bad thing), it's that he imposed steel tariffs IN DEFIANCE OF TREATIES ABOUT WORLD TRADE, and the EU appealed to the WTO for permission to respond by imposing duties on US goods in return. This permission was basically forthcoming because these were the agreements that the various countries had proposed, and because Bush proposed an arrangement that (typically) attempted to shore up his reputation at home by breaking international agreements/laws etc. If the rest of the world had instituted tariffs against US products then they'd be subject to the same censures.
