Enron Movie's PR Flacks: Not the smartest guys in the room

I just read John Gorenfeld's post about his dealings with Special Ops Media, the PR firm pushing the new film Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room. As is clear from his post they are going about this all wrong, but I've got some info of my own. I promised the people involved I wouldn't name names but hassling bloggers isn't the only strategy going on here. Someone involved with the film is approaching people trying to get them to start a blog about Corporate Crime that would focus heavily on their movie. Of course they would buy a huge chunk of ads on the blog to support it as well. Heavy handed tactics and shady approaches like this are not the way to get good blog press, and it's pretty ironic that a movie about bad corporate behavior would be the test case for just what not to do.

Sean Bonner has been annoying people on the internet since 1994. Currently he lives in Los Angeles and is the co-founder of Metroblogging. Despite growing up in Bradenton, Yahoo! thinks he's the most important "Sean" on the internets. He's sick of labels. This was his blog until sometime in 2007 when it broke.
