Testing Google Talk

I'm checking out this and trying to set up Google Talk with Adium X and I'm not having any luck. Adium supports Jabber but there's some kind of Authentication/Gaim error preventing it from fully connecting. That is happening with "username@gmail.com", when I try "username@talk.google.com" I'm getting a 405: Not Allowed error. Will keep messing around. Feel free to try it yourself with a jabber client and Server: talk.google.com. I've heard the server keeps going down so maybe that's the problem.

Looks like Dave got it working and I'm up and running using Adium X on Mac now as well. seanbonner@ if you want to try it out.

No one has the patience to wait even one day to let Google launch it properly? Y'all gotta be all haxxoring at their servers like kids on Christmas Eve.

Before a concert do you go sit in the dressing room and watch the musicians eat?

Before a movie do you go into the projection booth and hold the film up to the light to see a few scenes?

Sean - Use the GAIM instructions from here, worked perfectly for me on GAIM on Linux

I'm sure you've got it straightened out now but your userid is yourname@gmail.com and the server to connect to is talk dot google dot com port 5222. Then leave the middle checkbox unchecked on the server settings tab. You should be good to go from there but they also posted a walkthrough tutorial w/screenshots for us mac users...
