And the creepy award goes to....

A followup to my previous post - When we got said naked-yet-wrapped-in-plastic girl to the party there was obviously a bunch of gawkers, this was to be expected and was probably part of the idea. Most people looked, maybe took a photo, and then went on with their lives. A few crossed the line making things a bit uncomfortable and this guy packed up and moved into creepyville. Almost immediately he started filming her and following her all over the party announcing "I sure am glad I brought my video camera tonight!" to anyone within earshot. He kept this up even after we tried to block his angle, even after we tried to loose him in the crowd, and even after her friends made it clear that he was making people uncomfortable. His reply was "You must not know who I am. I've been doing this for 15 years!" Great, that's something to brag about - he's been acting like a stalker and freaking people out for years. Woo Hoo. Eventually we convinced him it was a bad idea to keep it up and he finally left the poor girl alone, but we was right about one thing, no one knew who he was... luckily he gave Jacob his business card.

Met that guy at O'Reilly TenCon in 2003. He is the very biggest of douchebags.

While I don't deny that the guy probably could have spent the evening being less creepy, I'm not exactly sure what you expected to happen by wrapping a relatively attractive (naked) female and parading her about in public.

You can't create a spectacle and then be annoyed when it attracts unwanted attention.

It wasn't public, it was a private party and the guy was told striaght out that he was being creepy and asked to stop and he didn't. Thus, a douchbag.

Thank you for addressing this, Sean. I appreciate it.

I didn't call him out on it until Jake was photographing another woman (who was posing for him), and Creepy Guy had his obnoxious camera and spotlight in her face too. He didn't say anything, he didn't ever ask permission. The bottom line is that he, and a couple other goons were making people feel UNSAFE. Total dickwad.

PS: I wonder if he'll post the video of me yelling at him. The parts that I can recall were hilarious.
