I can has assistants?

logo-medium.gifIn my continuing quest to worry about less shit and get more things done I've started looking into different kinds of assistants and what makes sense for a dude like myself. I still don't have the answer to that, but I'm trying out a few options and will see what works.

I've got a beta account on I Want Sandy which so far seems pretty interesting. I've just started playing with it today but it's entirely virtual and web based. As you know I'm trying to get away from email so the e-mail tools aren't really my thing, but the SMS and web options certainly are. I send notes, reminders, and info to "Sandy" who will then ping me via SMS to remind me of these items at set times, or retrieve them on call at a later. I can also manage via the web, but I can see this being useful for all kinds of dates, account numbers, and stuff. Just started playing with it today, but we'll see.

I've also now hired a real live, yet still virtual, assistant through Get Friday. I'm just getting up to speed with them now, but I have a live person who I'm working with there and I can send them tasks and jobs that they can take care of at a fraction of the time/cost that it would take me to do them.

Both of these are brand new, and I'll see what things naturally flow where as I get in the habit of using them over the next few weeks.

This is a single entry on a blog written by me, Sean Bonner. Please feel free to look around or even join in whatever conversation might be going on. Or don't. See if I care.
