Continuing Transit
I've been less than regular with the updates here though if you've been following along on twitter or flickr then you are mostly up to date with where I'm at at least. The last night in Toronto I met up with my old friends from Grade who I hadn't seen in way way way way too long. As you can see in the photo to the right Kyle is still good at getting in the way of photos of hot girls. Nice one Kyle. Additionally I spent some time on the Toronto Transit system (subways and streetcars) and really enjoyed them, except for the one time where I accidentally overpaid and was then accosted by the transit worker for doing so. rad.
Overall, another great trip to Toronto - I realized I hadn't been there in like 8 years or so which is way too long.
Then... ROAD TRIP!

Casey and Rudy picked me up from the hotel and after lunch we set out by car to Montreal. I used to love road trips and spent much of my college years crammed in a van full of friends and musical equipment but I think when I moved from Chicago to Los Angeles with Caryn and everything we owned packed in a truck it kind of killed it for me - for a while anyway. Recently I've been loving them again, and 5-6 hour blasts have turned out to be great ways to get to know folks. It's the perfect amount of time for dumb jokes and thoughtful conversations.
The freeway between Toronto and Montreal actually reminded me of Florida which seems really weird but also kind of makes sense considering how many times the two places have been joined in my world for one reason or another. Somewhere along the way I started thinking about this Hankshaw song and have been humming it ever since.
We got to Montreal just after dark, but not too late to take part in the local Starbucks and make an inspired web video (you'll need to be my friend on facebook to see that) and then crash. This 3rd leg is the shortest stop on this trip, but I think some cool things will come from it. Plus I get to check off another city on the "places I've been" mental list. And also more vegan places to check out.
