Regarding the cat, it killed itself. No one killed the cat. I repeat, no one killed the cat. If you miss this, you miss the point of the short. The cat is a great admirer of Kikkoman almost along the lines of idolization (that's a 5 syllable word for the trailer park cracker mofos lurking here...it may supercede your comprehension). When Kikkoman yells at the cat and calls him "idiot," it's as if life no longer has any meaning. The cat's idol, his god, has just rebuked him. The very essence of his existence has just shunned him. Hence, the apparent suicide (it's humor). If you watch the short again, you can catch on to this through the visual clues.

And no, Japanese don't eat cats. Nor do they hang them. Lynching is a practice indegenous to White Southerners of America, keep your bad blood to yourself. We all have enough incriminating history.
