hello, great page first off seanbonner! as i read through sean penns letter and the comments of others from around the globe i realized something. the world is truly a frightening planet to live on. As an american from nyc,i feel as many others the human race is heading in a horrible direction. george w. bush stated on television on sept 12,2001,that "maybe its time we recognized an arab state." what happened to this idea? as i watched in horror the events of 9-11-01 unfold before my eyes i actuall felt angry at this. i said out loud "we should nuke whoever did this!" then after a few days, once we all realized who claimed responsibility, i felt sorry for palestine and all arab nations who do not have americas favor and good fortune with their nation. if we are so concerned about human rights of other nations in the world, why dont we help them as well. we ignored ruwanda and the hutu genocide on the tootsis. we ignored idi amin. melosivich is still alive why i have no idea! in every coner of the globe there are human right violations and atrocities. why dont we send cruise missiles in to right the wrongs in these places? iam in no way an anti-semite, but i honestly feel and have felt this way since i was a teenager, that our affiliation with israel would be detrimental to our american lifestyle. i was correct on sept 11 as i watched the towers die one and then another. i say towers collectively because they were alive with human spirit and dreams of the american way. why does the u.s. government continue to support israels policies toward the palestines? they are practicing human annihilation with as much abandon as hitler. what does israel have religiously that palestine doesnt? let me get this straight, israels god is better or more righteous than islams god? thats why they should control the land there? confused! similar to our genocide of the native americans or indians as it were. we have learned from that mistake i hope. in retrospect, america if it is to survive, will need to help palestine develope economically and globally. and have israel come to terms with the gaza strip. that strip will be the catalyst of the apocolypse if not. there was a time when jews and arabs were united. the world needs this union again. i watched a movie called godspell the other night. i cried because of the prophetic nature of its meaning. the world must help each other no matter what. iam in no way apologizing for america or what we truly stand for. however, sometime in global history as the rest of the world knows,a governing body is appointed like gw bush`s administration(not elected) and push their heinous theories on the rest of the world. america thus does not constitute the peoples will and intent on current global issues of warfare and ignorance of other nations. peace on earth and good will tward all people. steve heidler
