03/12/2003 Entry: "back to the grind"
So as you can guess the past few days have really sucked. What can you do. So I'm forcing my self to write something good, making it up right as I go along. First of all, a shining moment was yesterday when I got the 30" KAWS Be@rbrick that you see to the left (the 1000% for you nerds) which I ordered about a year ago. Hot damn that thing is bad ass. I also got the 400% one which is a bit smaller but also cool as it gets. I'm starting to feel like some kind of freak about this shit, I've got KAWS stickers on my laptop, car, and a shelf full of toys at home. It's actually good, there's not much I'm a fan of these days, too damn cynical and jaded I guess. whatever.
So here's some random links I've gotten in the past few days: A site with a directory of Vegan owned businesses and websites and whatnot which is interesting if nothing else. A real spooky flash psychic thing which will freak you out until you figure it out. I'll post the solution in the comments. A rad History of Michael Jacksons face which I know you all are dying to see. And finally, a pirate joke from Watt:
a pirate w/a steering down his pants walks into a bar
and orders a drink. the bartender must know and asks
why he's got a steering wheel in his pants, the pirate
answers "aaaarrrrrrggggghhh, it's driving me nuts!"
In other geek news: I just got GPRS on my treo which might be one of the coolest things ever. I downloaded Snappermail which looks to be the most amazing palm based mail program. full image support, auto checking mail for always on connections, the works. It's nerd-arific!

the psychic flash thing solution from RESH: It's an old parlor trick! Amazingly, every two-digit number, when
subtracted by the sum of the two digits in the number, seems to be
dividible by 9. Random examples:
67 -- 6+7=13 -- 67-13 = 54
29 -- 2+9=11 -- 29-11 = 18
53 -- 5+3=8 -- 53-8 = 45
31 -- 3+1=4 -- 31-4 = 27
54 -- 5+4=9 -- 54-9 = 45
It works for just about every two-digit number (I think).
So, in updating the idea in Flash, these folks assigned the same symbol to
each factor of 9 (i.e., 9, 18, 27, 36, etc.) -- check it out. That's how it
works every time.
Very clever though!
