03/22/2003 Entry: "one but not the other"
this is a question that for shit ass reasons I've had to ask on way too many occations recently. What do you do when you are friends with a guy who's wife hates you? Or maybe you like the wife but think the husband if a retard? Or some other combination of the love one half of the couple, hate the other? For some stupid reason this is a theme that has showed it self in one way or another far too oftin in my life. It's been the demise of too many friendships, and now seems to be on the brink of a few more. I know there's never been tons of "comments" on this site, but I'd really like some opinions on this one.

I'm also a "random" commenter, but I'd say this: You have to try to see that person from your friend's perspective. Pretend you're the friend, and you think the undesirable girlfriend/boyfriend is like the best person you've ever met. It'll feel funny, but just do it. If you can get into it, like playing a character, you'll start seeing new things about them, and maybe even why your friend fell for them in the first place. Kind of like the "fake it till you make it approach."
That make any sense??? :)

I don't know what to tell you except, I know exactly what your talking about. I've lost several friends to their girlfriends. It sux, but it guess it's just a guy thing to get led off by the balls like that.
