04/05/2003 Entry: "suckcatcher"
Today I saw most of the Warner Brothers/Castle Rock/Village Roadshow picture Dreamcatcher. I snuck into the theater to see the animated Matrix thing which was cool, then I figured I'd watch the movie too. I was disappointed first because Jason Lee isn't at his best in this thing. He has his wit going, but the writing just isn't as good as I expect from some big ass movie (big ass $70 mil budget) or could have done myself. That's right, I'm saying I could have written a better Dreamcatcher. I wouldn't have though, because I have no interest. I write my own kick ass movies that have mass appeal for all types of people of all ages. I'm not going to cop some Stephen King novel. Boring.
Anyway, about 70 minutes in, Jason Lee is killed. I waited another fifteen or so to make sure he didn't come back since it's a weird alien/supernatural/anything can happen movie, then I left. I don't know, maybe it gets good 85 minutes in.

You suffered through about 30 more minutes than I could stomache. I hadn't walked out of a movie since Career Opportunities when I was 15.
